What is Strength and Conditioning?Strength and Conditioning is the term used for a fitness coach with a deeper understanding of performance. A good S&C coach will bring specialist knowledge to a sport or population. An experienced S&C coach may have experience in multiple sports. To become an Accredited S&C coach with the UKSCA a coach must demonstrate underpinning knowledge and technical coaching skills. The UKSCA pass rate for accredited coaches is 25% so you can be confident that coaches that have the accreditation are highly skilled.

What does ASCC accredited coach mean?ASCC is accreditation by the governing body for Strength and Conditioning in the UK. An accredited coach must complete 2 practical assessments of their technical coaching (pass rate is only 25% for each of these assessments) plus a case study presentation and exam which each have a success rate of 50%. You can be assured that an ASCC coach has completed a rigorous assessment and completed continued CPD which is required to retain certification. Plus just because you aren't professional doesn't mean you can't train like a professional.
